So, I applied for the Plumbing private area when i first signed up. still not approved. is there a waiting period or minimum post count? just wondering.

The Mods/Admin are going to want verification of Trade credentials before admitting you to the private areas.

Just PM one of them and they'll let you know what they require to validate your credentials.

Always loved this Woman. She never really got the kind of recognition she deserved.

Now where's the FYGTH! button?

I'm still hoping for a 'Piss Off You Bleedin' Commie' button.

We should prolly let OS have a small well earned break now that he got the thanks button up.

We can schedule harassment to begin for the 'Piss Off You Bleedin' Commie' button after he's had a rest...how does next week starting Monday at 8am sound? ;)

I'm as happy as a wallaby in shiot. I'm very pleased with just how quickly this all came together.

I love the new format of thanks where you can see the total thanks per post. I was wondering if there was any way we could see a ranking of the members based on total number of thanks received.

I know there is a list of every members thanks count but, it isn't in any particular order. It would be cool if that list were a ranking of members by thanks recieived.

You can order the lists by clicking on the orange links.

Apparently I'm a bit of an ingrate.

The plumbers union has a lot of power in the state. Copper and cast take longer to install and cost much more plus job security.

Explain "job security"
They pay you to put it in, then pay again a couple years later to replace it.

A "couple years" for cast and copper? You're kidding right? Unless you're trying to throw a dig at organized labour...

I've been keeping pretty busy over the last year replacing rotted out cast iron that wasn't any older than 30 years -- Both No-Hub and Hub-n-Spigot.

It kind of worries me when I consider just how much of this stuff (especially No-Hub) I've put in over the years. Mrs. Shins and I had dinner a few months back at a fairly large commercial job I had done in '82 -- They were ripping all of the suspended No-Hub out of the parking garage and replacing it with solid core PVC. I introduced myself to the foreman and asked him what was going on, he took me over to dumpster and showed me some of what they were ripping out. All of the horizontal piping had rotted out on the underside from the inside out, it was rotted badly enough that you couldn't even snap it w/out having it crumble. The vertical drops and flat vents were fine, but every horizontal drain had failed.

They do get big ones occasionally, I have only fished for them a few times....with no luck. But I like eating them!

I'm not big on squid, but I do loves me some octopi.

I got kind of burned out on squid when I was a construction foreman at a shore plant up in Alaska in the very early 80's. Squid beach themselves by the hundreds of thousands all at one time and the stench is enough to make your eyes water and bleed at the same time. The smell carries for miles and permeates everything. I threw most of my clothing and safety gear away at the end of every 3 month gig.

Ahhh It is quiet in the house again...
The kids and grandkids have all left...

Had a good time with good food...
Miss Piggy's shank was indeed as tasty as I had imagined...

My son in law brought over some Magic Hat Pistil & Harpoon UFO White...

It was fun... But I'm enjoying the Quiet right now...

Ahh quiet in our house too! Except we left the 5 year old at grandmas for a bit   A little thanks for the sugar she gave her
