Hasn't been a year for me. I didn't even know this place existed tiI got an invite.

But I like plumbing specialists forum. I learn so much and utilize the business section as well.

I find myself talking to customers with words used here and the way I approach new and returning customers.

A favorite thread? Not sure. So many good ones! I really enjoy all the witty banter.

I get so much out of the business owners section, some days, it's my lifeline.

By far my favorite thing about this forum is the relationships. I hear deep love and respect in your conversations.

The same guys acting bad-ass in one thread, are cooing over baby pictures or encouraging someone going through a tough time, in the next thread.

I like that age nor education nor social status play an important roll here.

I love the unique insight and perspective each member brings to this forum and how much more well-rounded we are as a result.

About once a week I ask myself, what I'm doing here? I'm not a plumber or a man. Surely they are going to notice soon. I hope y'all never do, because this well kept secret is a special place and I'm grateful to be a part of it. You are each dear to me.

You have as much a place here as I do when you look at the big picture, actually more since the for the most part the only pipe I work on anymore is attached to railcars, whereas you are running an actual plumbing business. If anyone should get run off it is prolly me.

I love every thread on here, and we have some of best in our industry here, that's what makes this place so great, I might not post much but I read every single thread on here and I am much smarter because of it and I thank everyone for that.

The best thing about this place is a member isn't just a number or a $ sign like in many "professional" trade forums. Instead here each member is considered an "owner" and integeral part of the forum, most of the members that joined here are still participating, and all of the first 10 members are still active in the community which is awesome.

I have to give a big thanks to all the people here who make this place what it is.

The "comment about the member above" thread is always good for a laugh.

My favorite so far is Deer's "existing biz purchase" Learned alot but what I enjoy the most is how help Deer received.

In that same thought.....the thread where the "other guy"(public thread) was down on his luck and alot of people helped him out.

Lastly was the thread when the "other guy" seemed to get ahold of his life and got that great job.

Thanks Ben, very much. I thought about that before I posted here today, I just didn't mention it because I'm still embarrassed. I didn't deserve the help I got, not by a long shot, and I have lots of outstanding debts I must attend to before I start paying everyone back.

Thanks again y'all

I can't speak for everyone else, but my money was a gift. When you get to the point that you want to pay me back, I'd rather you find someone else that needs help and pay it forward. I helped you to make the world a little better place, because I could. You are paying me back, every time I see a thread about your job or things you've accomplished.

I like it all. But I enjoy the plumbing pic thread. I like seeing other areas how they do things. Also like the pics of crap we see doing service, it never stops. But I pick up on info all the time.

Thank you all for this being a " coffee shop " if you will for us professionals to chat, laugh and relax in.
I love it

Thanks a lot Mike. Unfortunately, you don't speak for everyone. There is one member in particular whom I actually thought was a friend. He maintained that his donation was a gift and even insisted on sending me more cash after I was settled in, to make sure I had enough groceries etc. I was very appreciative.

Then the requests started coming. First just for stickers, which I was happy to comply with. Then it was pins, and toques, and shirts, and a hat etc. I had a list of "swag" worth well over $100, from theunion hall 2 towns over. I'm sure you can understand that I had neither the funds nor the transportation to make this happen.

Then the requests turned into demands. I was getting texts at strange hours full of curse words and telling me I was a disgrace to the UA. then it turned into private messages, demanding I immediately wire him the balance, with interest...

Un-phacing-believable!

Needless to say, we're not what you would call "friends" anymore..

Just being able to access such experience and knowledge is what makes this site worth visiting on a regular basic. Oh, and the tee shirt Mr Dunn sent me (which I am determined to reciprocate if I can just find something appropriate) isn't too shabby either.
