I'm thinking maybe your menagerie should include one of these, Pinky...

Because 4 children, 2 dogs and a fish weren't enough, we got a cat from the local rescue a few weeks ago. He is the sweetest little thing. He has the whole family wrapped around his paw and both dogs submitting to his authority. We named him Atticus, but I call him Catticus. Love him. Image

Last Friday I had to put one of the rats down....over the weekend one of the cats that lives outside started looking pretty sick...took him to the vet Monday morning....he stayed most of the week, and he is now diabetic, and requires special limited food and insulin 2x/day....Tuesday we put our old poodle down...
Last week sucked balls.

Not cool Pinky. Sorry to hear that. Our 9 year old Boxer is at the vet today. Chronic renal failure. She will go on a special diet. She has lost a lot of weight in the past 4 months or so.

With the exception of rats, we aren't getting any more animals....it's just too much when you get to be a certain age. Rats only live 3 years...

My big doofy dog loves to run around the yard, and she can't be bothered to pay attention to what might be in her way. So she is often limping for a couple of days. This time the limp was bad and didn't get better. Took her in to the vet, she has a dislocated hip that it is too late to put back in place. The vet wants to cut the ball off of her hip, and let the muscles hold it in place. They also gave me a number for University of Florida vet school, said they might have a surgery option that would be better. Gotta call them and my regular vet on Monday.

You need a better vet. There's a hip replacement for big dogs now....no just chopping the ball off and leaving it.
I'd burn my vet down if she suggested that shit.
